Hydrogen Buses in China Help Clean the Communist Country

Three DaimlerChrysler hydrogen buses have hit the streets in Beijing, China as part of an eight-year, two-phase project, creating a stir in the communist community. Traditional buses in China’s larger cities are major contributors to air pollution.

According to Renaud Meyer, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in China, “This marks the first public operation of fuel-cell buses in Beijing, it is the first ever in China, and one of the first in a developing country. The hydrogen refueling station will be fully operational this summer.”

Shanghai will also receive three hydrogen fuel cell buses later this year. The buses are powered by Ballard fuel cell stacks and will refuel at BP and Sino-Hytec refueling stations. China, along with the United States, is one of the world’s top emitters of greenhouse gases globally. So, heralding in hydrogen transportation is being seen as a step in the right direction.

When this red country goes green it will mean blue skies for everyone else and with all the primary colors represented, that can’t be all bad now can it?
