Hydrogen Fueling Stations Keep Popping Up Worldwide

Well, I’ve already blogged about new hydrogen stations opening in California, Illinois, Hawaii, Michigan, Nevada, Vermont and Washington D. C. But, the hits just keep on coming as more hydrogen fueling stations are popping up all the time.

For instance, the first hydrogen station in Florida has officially opened near the Orlando International Airport. This will service several Ford F-450 hydrogen shuttle buses.

But, wait, there’s more! Southern California Edison and Chevron have just opened up a demonstration hydrogen fueling station in Los Angeles. And, a Linde hydrogen fueling station has now officially opened at the Hamburg Airport in Germany.

Just a short distance away, a TOTAL hydrogen fueling station that was already open in Berlin is getting an upgrade to use Europe’s first Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) reformer to create hydrogen gas from this fossil fuel source.

And if this weren’t enough, General Motors has just placed an order with Air Liquide to buy five 10,000 psi, quick fill hydrogen fueling stations. The deal also leaves open the option for GM to buy two more hydrogen fueling stations from Air Liquide if desired.

As an added bonus, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of India has sanctioned that a new hydrogen fueling pump be opened at an existing gasoline station in New Delhi.

With all the hydrogen stations opening all the time, one only has to wonder what the bonus round will be like in a very short time.
