Alternative Locations for Hydrogen Fueling Stations

Throughout the week, I receive email from visitors to the hydrogen autos website and blog. Jeffery C. wrote in to tell me his ideas for building hydrogen fueling stations in alternative locations. It’s this kind of outside-the-box thinking that will be necessary in order to make hydrogen autos a reality in this nation. Here are Jeffery C.’s comments:

Jeffery C.: “I am a strong advocate of hydrogen vehicles primarily to stop importing foreign oil. The largest problem that I see is the fueling stations are few and far between at the moment. I fully understand the reluctance of oil companies to allow their gas stations to add a hydrogen pump because once the idea is fully implemented they will go back to selling oil for electric generation and a few gallons for older autos and still make diesel for trucks.

I have a distribution recommendation or two for you: Approach the Auto Dealers to install the pump. With the decrease in repairs that all electric vehicles will require this would provide a revenue stream that would continue. This also gets people into dealerships to shop look at new autos more frequently.

Approach Sam’s, Wal-Mart and Costco to install the hydrogen pumps. This allows the auto manufacturers to sell new autos at a flat price to the members. This allows people the excuse to stop by their stores more frequently so they may go inside and shop. Depending on the way they produce their hydrogen they could produce electricity to reduce their overall electric bills.

I understand the pressure that the government has from oil companies not to allow hydrogen autos to be mandated to be used in the next 2, 3, 5 years. Since we are in the middle of elections I do not understand why the Auto Industry, the global warming crowd and the close our borders groups are not soliciting a promise from all the candidates to move to hydrogen vehicles across the board in a preset number of years.”
