Hydrogen Fuel Cars 2014 – 2015

This page features hydrogen fueled autos that have been shown in the year 2014 and 2015. Some of the hydrogen fuel cell autos and H2ICE vehicles on this page are prototypes, while others may be production autos.

The Honda FCV Concept was officially debuted at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The Honda FCV has a 100 kW fuel cell and a driving range of 300 miles, very much like the Honda FCEV which was rolled out in late 2013.
Renault Kangoo ZE with Symbio FCell was unveiled in France in 2015. They are calling this an EV with hydrogen fuel cell Range Extender technology.
  The BMW i8 Hydrogen prototype was spotted taking laps on a track in July 2015 at the BMW Group Innovation Days 2015 at Miramas.
  The BMW 5 Series GT was also shown in July 2015 at the BMW Group Innovation Days 2015 at Miramas. This vehicle was based upon the 5 Series Gran Turismo the system with 90kW PEM fuel cell by Toyota.
  The Toyota FCV Plus was unveiled shortly before the 2015 Tokyo Motor show. Like the Mirai before it, the FCV Plus has the ability to power one’s home if needed.



Hyundai ix35 Tucson fuel cell SUV rolled out as a production vehicle in 2014 and could be leased at a few, select Southern California dealerships.
Mercedes-Benz Vision G-Code Concept is a hybrid that combines hydrogen combustion engine with electric batteries. It’s paint is also used as a solar panel for added energy.
Toyota Mirai was unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show and started production in Japan in December of the same year.
Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen HyMotion Concept is powered by a PEM fuel cell and can drive 310 miles before refueling.
Audi A7 Sportback H-Tron Quattro Concept is a quick vehicle with a start speed of 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds and top speed of 112 mph.
Hyundai Intrado Concept SUV with its eye-catching exterior and interior made its official debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
