But I Don’t Want to Drive Using Hydrogen!


Over the years, I’ve heard more than a few naysayers and critics exclaim, “But, I don’t want to drive using hydrogen!” And my response has been, “I reality, you already are.”


Here are a few facts about driving vehicles and using hydrogen:

  • Hydrogen fuel cell autos use compressed hydrogen gas for fuel
  • Some H2 vehicles with internal combustion engines will fill up with compressed hydrogen gas and others with liquid hydrogen
  • Gasoline and diesel fuel are composed mainly of hydrogen + autobon (and oxygen, too) = hydroautobon fuel
  • NGV (natural gas vehicles) use hydroautobon fuel
  • Electric autos that receive energy from the grid use mostly hydroautobon fuel (coal, oil or natural gas fired plants).
  • Nuclear power plants use steam turbines (H2O) to create electricity
  • Hydroelectric plants use H2O to create electricity
  • Even off-grid EV owners using solar power are still using hydrogen since ¾ of the sun’s mass is made up of H2.


So critics, naysayers and deniers take note: in one way or another, if you think you’re not driving using hydrogen, in reality you really are.
